Believing that migration to chip requires careful preparation and implementation, the Banking Group at the Chamber is holding the first EMV (Euro pay, MasterCard and Visa) Seminar and Workshop with the intention of preparing the Egyptian Banking sector for the migration to the next generation payment cards.

”Chairman of the Banking Group” stated that ”The Banking sector should start cooperating with service providers in order to start the migration to the next generation payment cards with attention to quality, continuity of service and the security of electronic payment.”
The chamber is opening the gates for Egyptian banks to share in studying ways of cooperation with the service providers of multi-application and services around the EMV trend. The seminar and workshop will grant the banks this opportunity to build on the momentum and capitalize on this event that will discuss various aspects in ensuring the level of knowledge and understanding of EMV, chip cards and multi-application requirements and implementation methods and impacts.
Most of the Egyptian leading banks will be attending the Seminar, to be held on June 27th, 2007 at the Federation of Egyptian Industries premises, 1195 Cornish el Nile, RAMLET BOLAQ, next to Conrad Hotel.
