Founding
In May 2000 The FEI has initiated the establishment of a chamber for software
and information technology to be the 15th chamber, this initiative from the FEI
was presented within a governmental concern for technology development after
the adoption of the national plan for technology development in Egypt that was
proposed by President Moubarak , September 1999 Minister of Industry and Technology Development With reference to the following laws and decrees governing the industrial Sector:
And after reviewing the note raised from The Federation of Egyptian Industries , dated 20/12/1999, We decide Article Number one :A new Industrial Chamber will be established , Named ( Chamber of Software & Information Technology) , staring from the current session of the Federation.Article Number two :The New Chamber would consist of Three Branches ( Software, Communications , and Information Services).Article Number Three :The new Chamber would cover the following activities:
Article number four:all industrial activities within the chamber must be represented on the elections of chamber board members.Article number five :Chairman of The Federation of Egyptian Industries will work on the implementation of this decree.Article number six :This decree is to be published in the official journal.Minister of Industry and Technology Development Dr.Eng. Article Number 1:Industrial Chambers will be established for the industrial activities that will identified by a decree issued by the minister of industry , these chambers will be treated like public institutions . these chambers , with the approval of minister of industry, has the right to establish branches for its sub-activities , it also have the right to establish branches in main industrial areas.Article Number 2:Chambers mentioned in the previous article would be concerned with the common interests of its members , representing them before public authorities , and to help public authorities on the development of Egyptian industry and reducing production costs.Article Number 3:Each industrial establishment with capital not less than 5,000 pounds , working within not less than 25 workers , should join the industrial chamber covering its specific activity.Article Number 4:All chambers will be subjected to the common rules of procedures that will be issued in a ministerial decree after consultations with the Federation of Egyptian Industries.Article number 5 :Each chamber should have its own board , this board will be composed every three years under a ministerial decree, two thirds of the board members will be elected by the members of the chamber , whilst the minister of industry would appoint the remaining third among these involved with that specific industry. |
